MG drive.
It has been so hot in Perth this week. 41.6 degrees on Sunday, 39 degrees on Monday and 37 yesterday. Just awful. So we have been stuck indoors in the air-conditioned house for the last few days. Last night we just had to get out so we waited until 6pm and the zoomed off in our MG to the beach. Ah the lovely cool breeze was delightful. There was an amazing sunset so of course I had to take a photo.

Protecting your photos online.
There is always the worry of people copying your photos. If your photos are published or just used on your social media there is always a chance that somebody my download and use them. An easy way to prevent this is by placing your own monogram/logo on the photo. You can have it printed in a solid colour and bold or you can use a transparent version which does not detract from your photo too much.
See my samples below. If you would like your own personalised monogram logo please contact me via my easy shop.

Think outside the box logo.
Pre made logo suitable for a wide range of business's. Thinking outside the box is more than just a business cliché. It means approaching problems in new, innovative ways; conceptualizing problems differently; and understanding your position in relation to any particular situation in a way you’d never thought of before.

Quarterfoil logo.
One of my customers asked me for a quatrefoil logo. I was not sure what that was although I have actually designed and used the shape I did not realise it had a name, until I looked it up on line.
So below is a description of a quatrefoil.
In art, architecture, and traditional Christian symbolism,[1] the quatrefoil is a type of decorative framework consisting of a symmetrical shape which forms the overall outline of four partially overlapping circles of the same diameter. The word quatrefoil means "four leaves", from Latin quattuor, four, plus folium, a leaf.[2]) and applies to general four-lobed shapes in various contexts. It is also used as a heraldic charge.

New online folio.
I have joined a women business group and have decided to get my folio up to date by having it on my ipad rather than lugging a big heavy folio around with me. So now begins the long process of creating it. Below is page one. A collection of logo ideas to show a range of ideas for one particular logo.

Tea cup logo.
Today I designed a cutsie pie tea cup logo which would be great for a pretty, vintage cafe or anything retro or feminine. I just love it because it reminds me of afternoon tea at my grandmothers home. We always had lovely crockery and delicious cakes and biscuits all home made of course. We used to visit every Saturday after playing netball. My grandmother was called "matey" because she lived with her brother after he returned from the war to help out on his farm. She was his "mate" and the nick name stuck.
You can purchase this logo on my Etsy online shop.

Retro caravan clip art.
I have had a desire to buy a retro caravan lately. I would love to have a little run down retro one to renovate. It would be so much fun to travel in. We would travel with our friends who have just bought a brand new expensive one, but I would prefer our cutie. This clip art represents the style of caravan I would like. I must start looking.

Beautiful cat.
A friend sent me a link to a pet competition a few days ago and I though yep, I am going to enter this. I have wanted to do an illustration of my special boy for a while but I always seen to have other work on the go. So I made time and here it is. Having a white cat does not make for a very dynamic illustration but he is so cute. He's not looking too bad for an 18 year old.

Our chinchilla cat.
My husband has gone to the UK for 4 weeks to help a friend with some home projects. The night he left he placed a farewell card under under my pillow. Such a nice thing to do. Anyway I have photographed our cat and the card to send to him. We adore our cat. He is 18 years old!!!
I have also posted a photo of our friends house where he is staying. To an Australian it is just beautiful and totally gorgeous. How wonderful to live in a house in the country like that! What a dream.

ANZAC Day in Australia.
ANZAC day in Australia is a big deal, especially this year being the100th anniversary.
ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) Day is the anniversary of the landing of troops from Australia and New Zealand on the Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey, in World War I on April 25, 1915. The bravery of all military personnel who participated in this campaign and the lives of those who died in all military actions are remembered.
I caught up with a friend today just as he returned home from the dawn anzac service wearing his fathers medals. He looked very proud. I asked if I could take a quick photo to remember this special day.Thursday, April 23, 2015

Anatomical illustrations.
I am not sure if I have posted these illustrations previously. I have been blogging for a while now so too many old posts to look through. I don't usually post my medical work but thought I would for a change. I have spent a large chunk of my career as a graphic designer/medical illustrator working in hospitals in Western Australia. If anybody requires an illustration just send me an email.
