Cake logo.
A gorgeous wedding cake is often the centerpiece of a wedding and usually sits in a place of honor. This carefully planned confection is a longstanding tradition dating back to Roman and Medieval times. Back then a stack of buns was used instead of a multi-level culinary masterpiece, but the symbolism was generally the same. Over the centuries there have been many traditions created surrounding the cake and it still remains an important aspect of any wedding.

Sewing business logo.
This is a logo I designed for a quilter. It will be used as a woven label to attach to quilts. Amazing how detailed the finished result is. The image attached is not the actual label but the artwork.
Good friends are like quilts - they age with you yet never lose their warmth. ~Author Unknown
A family is a patchwork of love. ~Author Unknown
In the crazy quilt of life, I'm glad you're in my block of friends. ~Author Unknown

“I am reminded that every day I have the chance to pick up a needle and some thread and add to the story. To stitch together something beautiful and unique, to patch a small scrap of fabric to the story, that will be retold again and again for all of eternity.”

Cleaning lady logo.
Some quotes:
Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing. —Phyllis Diller
My second favorite household chore is ironing. My first being hitting my head on the top bunk bed until I faint. —Erma Bombeck
I'm not going to vacuum until Sears makes one you can ride on. —Roseanne Barr
There was no need to do any housework at all. After the first four years the dirt doesn't get any worse. —Quentin Crisp
My idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance. —Erma Bombeck
The best time for planning a book is while you're doing the dishes. —Agatha Christie
You don't get anything clean without getting something else dirty. —Cecil Baxter
When it comes to housework the one thing no book of household management can ever tell you is how to begin. Or maybe I mean why. —Katharine Whitehorn
My idea of superwoman is someone who scrubs her own floors. —Bette Midler

Trip to the country.
I have just returned from a quick trip to the country to visit my father. It was a beautiful sunny day, freezing but sunny so we went for a drive into the country. It is so lush and green at this time of the year. In summer it is a completely different colour and quite harsh. We stopped at a little cafe called Lady Marmalado for coffee and the most delicious home made cakes. I think we will be visiting there again sometime soon.

Abstract seascape painting.
I have decided to try my hand at painting. I have always wanted to paint in an abstract, impressionistic style.
A few words about this style of art from
http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/abex/hd_abex.htm
Abstract Expressionism emerged in the early 1940s, primarily in New York, where a small group of loosely affiliated artists created a stylistically diverse body of work that introduced radical new directions in art—and shifted the art world’s focus.
These artists valued spontaneity and improvisation, and they accorded the highest importance to process. Their work resists stylistic categorization, but it can be clustered around two basic inclinations: an emphasis on dynamic, energetic gesture, in contrast to a reflective, cerebral focus on more open fields of color. In either case, the imagery was primarily abstract. Even when depicting images based on visual realities, the Abstract Expressionists favored a highly abstracted mode.
So here is my first attempt. I am not sure if it fits the bill, but I had fun trying. A seascape.

Three horses.
I took this photo on a recent trip to Tasmania. It is a little blury because I had accidentally left my camera behind, so I had to buy another one which I was not used to. Well thats my excuse. It was late at dusk too.
A horse is the projection of peoples' dreams about themselves - strong, powerful, beautiful - and it has the capability of giving us escape from our mundane existence. ~Pam Brown

Sewing logo.
I am working on a sewing label for a client. My client has chosen the design she likes from the selection I sent to her. I am still in the process of fine tuning the logo and conversing with the printing company. This logo will be woven onto fabric. Most of my work is printed in ink so this is a fun new project for me. I have a few designs left over so thought I would list one in my Etsy shop. So here it is.
May your bobbin always be full.

Accessories are like vitamins to fashion - as such, you should use them liberally.
Please excuse the lack of quotation marks on the quote above. My computer is being a pain and just will not print the commas ????? Strange. Has anybody else had this problem? Do you know the fix? I guess it will be reinstalling the software. Ho hum. Like I have time to do that!

On line shop logo.
This week I have been working on a logo for a lovely client in Oslo called Mirushe. She is starting an online business selling baby bouquets. A lot of my business comes from overseas so it takes 24 hours to hear back sometimes because of the time difference. Mirushe always got back to me really quickly and I was a bit puzzled so I asked her what the time difference was. It is 5 hours but she has a seven month old baby! Arrrr ........... that explains it. Best wishes to Mirushe with the new business.

Etsy shop.
A screen grab of my Etsy shop where you can view and download professional logos, clip art and pet portraits.
Etsy is a marketplace where people around the world connect, both online and offline, to make, sell and buy unique goods.
The heart and soul of Etsy is our global community: the creative entrepreneurs who use Etsy to sell what they make or curate, the shoppers looking for things they can’t find anywhere else, the manufacturers who partner with Etsy sellers to help them grow, and the Etsy employees who maintain and nurture our marketplace.
