Simple wedding invitation.

It is 40 degrees in Perth today and has been since christmas day and is set to continue until Thursday. It is hot!!!! So I am sweltering in front of the computer with the air conditioner and fan blasting away. It is too hot to do anything else. Roll on Thursday. I am working on some new wedding stationery designs to take my mind off the heat. Certainly can't do any gardening or painting that I had planned to do.

Ginger Bread house.

If you look carefully you will see my gingerbread house in the background of the photo. Because it was my first ever attempt to make a GB house it is a little or rather a lot rough around the edges so I thought a soft focus shot was called for. I could not find my fine icing nozzle so I have gone for the chunky look. I will try again next year. Of course I did find my nozzle as soon as I had finished.

Christmas in our new home.

We had our first christmas in our new home. We had a great day with family and friends and enjoyed a delicious traditional christmas meal cooked by my clever husband. Thank goodness I have a husband who can cook. My contribution for the day is cleaning up before hand and after and decorating the table. The weather was the only negative thing .... 38 degrees or was it 40 degrees anyway very, very hot.... but that is pretty normal for Christmas in Western Australia. No snow for us, although I did make my first gingerbread house ever and it had snow. I have discovered that snow is perfect for covering up the wobbly bits.

Dec the tree.

We bought a fantastic big xmas tree today. Normally we have a teeny, weeny christmas tree which looks very cute. I love decorating the tree so this year I will have two to decorate. Dismantling them is never as much fun. Puddy came over straight away to investigate and see what was going on. Looking for his pressie no doubt. I wish he could talk.

Our new, old home.

This is a photo taken in our new, old, more homely home. It is a little shabby chic....thats a kinder way of saying ... in need of renovation.

Back again.

Well I am back. We have just moved house so have been busy packing and then unpacking, but starting to get back to normal now. We have been without an internet connection for 6 days so great to be back online. This is our second move in just over a year. We moved from an old worldy house to a very contemporary house and it just was not us, so we sold up and bought a retro house. It is pretty run down and desperately in need of a kitchen and bathroom reno but we could not be happier. This will be the 3rd house we have renovated. We love having floor boards again. At least I can hear my husband walking up behind me now instead of jumping out of my skin every time he comes into a room. We have a garden again too. We have gone from a 261 sq mtr block to an 836. Well I guess I had better get my old painting jeans on and get busy.
